One minute she is in Liverpool hanging out with her dad, the next thing you know Stella McCartney is in New York throwing a garden party for her new spring resort '09 collection. Pals including Kate Hudson and Jeff Koons were treated to an outdoor presentation yesterday in the West Village of her latest holiday wear, which formed part of her new show restructure.

"Bad-tailoring, nicely done," is how McCartney describes her offerings for spring '09, which featured her trademark slouchy pieces in shorts, jackets and trousers, which were tapered in at the bottom.

Everything was dressed down to suit a relaxing day in the park or a breezy sail on the sea. Delicate day dresses were embellished with cherry brooches and bracelets, and anchor motif tops teamed with electric blue printed heels. For evening, there were loose sparkly silver dresses.

"This is how I want my girls to look," McCartney said, pointing to models sitting on picnic blankets, giggling and talking. "This is how I see people wearing the clothes."
