Good news for our European readers who have been waiting patiently for a local Primark to open, rather than make the regular shopping trip to London.
Following the success of its first five Spanish stores, the budget retailer has announced plans to expand to Germany, Portugal and the Netherlands next year.
"We now feel that we can develop on all fronts," John Bason, finance director of Primark's parent company Associated British Food, told The Times.
He added that the success of Primark in Spain was proof that it could work on the continent. Despite the potential rivalry from Zara and H&M, Bason predicted a further 50 stores could soon be on the cards for Spain.
