When the lovely Faran at Nylon sent us an email asking us whether these were the first images from the forthcoming Comme des Garçons diffusion range for H&M (pictured above, top) we nearly wet ourselves with excitement. CdG for H&M has to be one of the more interesting collaborations to come out of the high street in quite a while. However, we regrettably have to say no. Why? I hear you ask. Read on to find out...

After careful examination, we came to the rather disappointing conclusion that unfortunately these pics, featuring model Heather Marks, cannot be CdG for H&M, why? Because when our very own Gemma and Isabelle traipsed off to the H&M press day for the autumn/winter 2008-9 collections last month, we found the above items hanging on mannequins with no mention of CdG (pictured above, bottom). That is unless, they were secretly trying to trick us by pulling the Rei Kawakubo wool over our eyes, so to speak!

Furthermore, the range is due to launch in Kawakubo's native Japan first before anywhere else in the world. So it would make sense that Tokyo would get a sneak preview before us.

Boo, hiss! We feel your pain. Having said that, we are always happy to stand corrected.
