newgen_ss09announcement.jpgYou know when we are only a few short months off London Fashion Week, when the British Fashion Council (BFC) announces the recipients of their New Generation sponsorship.

Yesterday, at an exclusive brunch in Shoreditch, BFC chief executive, Hilary Riva, revealed who the winners are of the next round of New Gen for the spring/summer '09 season. From over 100 applicants, the judging panel chose Louise Goldin, Danielle Scutt, Meadham Kirchoff, Peter Pilotto and House of Holland (pictured right) for their catwalk sponsorship.

This is the second time that House of Holland has been backed by the Topshop-led initiative, and the first time for Peter Pilotto, which we are more than excited about!

Those among the winners to be awarded exhibition sponsorship include David David, Felder Felder, Hannah Marshall, Nicolas Kirkwood and Poltock and Walsh.

Milliner Nasir Mazhar will also benefit from New Gen scheme, by hosting an event at Dover Street Market during LFW.

"New Gen continues to support the best of London's emerging design talent," said Riva. "With a track record of helping to establish some of the UK's most creative and internationally recognised businesses, I have no doubt these new designers will go on to develop successful careers within the industry."
