Graduate Fashion Week comes to a close with a deserving Gold Award winner at a celeb-studded Gala Show
Last night's Graduate Fashion Week gala show & awards was the ultimate place to do some star spotting. It's one of the rare occasions where the cream of the fashion crop mingle with the next big things - the pre-show bar is a free-for-all where you could find yourself bumping into Claudia Schiffer or sharing a bit of eye contact with Julien Macdonald just as easily as you might come across a student whose collection you loved earlier in the week.
This year's star quota was massive, with everyone from Pixie Geldof and Gok Wan to Agyness Deyn and BFF Henry Holland showing up to support the students...
Though we're used to stalking Henry, it was the first time we'd seen Agyness close-up, and the moment you do you see what all the fuss is about. Armed with a Chanel Union Jack clutch she'd obviously nabbed the night before, she was decked out in her trademark mad style...but somehow it works in person. Agyness and Henry handed out the second award of the night in typical fashion - Henry fluffed his lines and Aggy joked 'this is why they didn't give me anything to say'.
Also in attendance was fellow London fashion fave Gareth Pugh, complete with cute bowl haircut and shrunken leather jacket, Zandra Rhodes, Mulberry's Emma Hill, Erin O'Connor, Talulah Riley and many more.
But surely what you really want to know is who won?
Massive congrats go to Ravensbourne's Jessica Au, whose inventive and directional menswear collection scooped the Zandra Rhodes textiles award and then went on to receive the prestigious River Island Gold Award. It's yet another amazing year for menswear at GFW!
Stay tuned for the full rundown of winners...
