Why you should not forget the Marchesa girls' titles
Georgina Chapman is the brand's co-founder and designer
Keren Craig is the brand's co founder and looks after the textile and business side of things.
Why should you know the difference between the two women? Well according to a Page Six source, "Georgina's brother, Edward Chapman, Marchesa's chief executive, was backstage (at the recent St. Jude Children's Research Hospital benefit) being very specific that Georgina is now to be called the designer of the company, but Keren is her co-founder, and not the designer. And boy, was that emphasized several times."
The source continued to say that "the girls are absolutely the best of friends and work together without much confrontation, but it's very clear there's been some issue recently with who's who at the company. Keren is the easier of the two. Georgina is definitely wound a little tighter."
Meanwhile a rep for Marchesa denied any problem between the women. "The company is growing and it's time to address each person's role, so they're defining it publicly because it's so big," said the rep. "They both did found the company, but Georgina has always been the designer and Keren works on the textile and the business standpoint. They always refer to each other that way, too."
