Today's model rumours: Lily Cole on Kate Moss's tail at Agent Provocateur; Agyness Deyn 'too famous' for Burberry
Barely a week goes by without a new rumour that Kate Moss is being replaced at Agent Provocateur or Rimmel and Agyness Deyn is about to be usurped at Burberry. And this week appears to be no different...
Rumours that Lily Cole could soon be the new face of Agent Provocateur began over the weekend when she took to the catwalk at Life Ball in Vienna, an annual AIDS charity event that this year, was sponsored by the lingerie label. Cole stepped in, after Kate Moss (AP's newly returned soldier) reportedly failed to show up.
The flame-haired beauty strutted her stuff in latex and chains (pictured right). I wonder what the folks over at Cambridge would think...?
Meanwhile, the Metro is stirring the pot this week by claiming that Agyness Deyn has been dropped as the face of Burberry because she is 'too over-exposed.'
A fashion insider reportedly told the paper that Mario Testino is fed up with the hype surrounding Agy, and that he is looking for something different.
"She was just a flash in the pan. Last year she was quirky but now she is challenging Moss in the fame stakes by positioning herself everywhere. That kind of popularity just hasn't sat well with Mario, who is looking for something different," the source said.
The famed photographer is said to be considering 21-year-old model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, who funnily enough was also spotted at Life Ball on the weekend.
I think I need a little lie down now...
