sjp_patfield_hat.jpgJust like Roberto Cavalli, I am growing a little weary of Patricia Field at the moment. With SATC hitting fever pitch in the US, the style guru seems to be everywhere right now, touting everything from Marks & Spencer to diet Coke bottles.

Nevertheless, I still felt compelled to read this Q&A with her by NY Mag, in which she reveals her true thoughts on Sarah Jessica Parker's Philip Treacy hat at the film's London premiere....

"I didn't really understand it frankly, I have to be honest. I asked her personal stylist, who used to be my assistant, "What was that about?" when I saw him at the [New York] premiere last night. I said, "Tracy Cox, explain that to me." He said it was a collaboration between Alexander McQueen and Phillip Treacy - they collaborated on this outfit."

Pat was then asked whether she would have styled SJP in the same outfit, she replied:

"I didn't understand it. I didn't get the combination. Okay, it matched - so what else? I'm not going to lie, I didn't get it at all. I think when you see the movie, the hat that she wore at her wedding - that one would've worked."

Personally, I can't see a great deal of difference in Pat's choice of hat in the film and the one that was worn to the premiere. Both are feathery extravagances that only Carrie Bradshaw could get away with. And I think she looked fab-u-loso!

>>> Meanwhile,
if she wasn't busy enough, it has also been revealed today that Pat will soon be turning her hand to designing two of Australia's most famous mother/daughter duos. Rumour has it that Field has signed on to be the set stylist for the forthcoming US version of Kath and Kim. Noice... different... unsual!
