Marc Jacobs hits London town and London town goes crazy
Our favourite Spongebob-inked designer Marc Jacobs swung by this fair city yesterday, to give a talk at Central Saint Martins. So of course, chaos ensued.
According to Vogue.com, tickets apparently had sold out within 45 minutes, queues of hopefuls snaked around the block just in case there were any returns and fanatical fans attempted to break in backstage while he spoke. Oh what I would have given to have seen all that goin' down!
Those who turned up to hear him speak (and that included names such as Giles Deacon, Christopher Kane and Jonathan Saunders) heard tales of him taking his early designs to Vogue's Andre Leon Talley when he was just starting out; how he hired a certain Tom Ford to be his design assistant; and his initial fear at taking the design helm at Louis Vuitton. Fascinating stuff. You can read more at Vogue.com.
