The star of Pearl Harbour (only let's not remind ourselves) has signed on to front Emporio Armani's newest male fragrance - Emporio Armani Diamonds for Men - to partner Diamonds women's scent, which has Beyonce Knowles as its brand ambassador.

Diamonds for Men marks Emporio Armani's sixth fragrance, with another two on the way.

"The Emporio Armani generation is inspired by film and music," the designer said. "I felt that for the men's Diamonds fragrance it would therefore be appropriate to involve one of today's most inspiring young actors."

While there is no word yet on what we can expect from the campaign, Armani did hint that due to Hartnett's "magnetism", he could "guarantee a memorable print and TV campaign for this new launch."

So... something like the Beckham/Armani ads then?

Diamonds for Men is due to be unveiled in June, during the spring 2009 men's fashion shows in Milan, followed by a worldwide launch in August.
