Newsflash: Jonathan Saunders and Nicholas Kirkwood snapped up by Pollini
Jonathan Saunders has taken a major step forwards in his career by accepting the role of creative director at Pollini.
The Scottish designer replaces Rifat Ozbek, who has led the label for the last four years. Saunders will debut his first collection for the Italian fashion house in Milan this September.
"I am absolutely delighted to be the new creative director of Pollini," he told Vogue. "I have a great deal of respect for them and Aeffe and am really looking forward to working together with them."
Meanwhile another British designer has also taken up residence at the house of Pollini, with Nicholas Kirkwood being appointed accessories director.
In his new role, he will act as both design director for Pollini shoe collections and fashion coordinator for its handbag collections.
"Nicholas Kirkwood has a vision for shoes which is creative and innovative as well as faithful to tradition and quality. This perfectly echoes Pollini's core values," said Massimo Ferretti, president of the Aeffe Group.
Saunders was last spotted on the red carpet at the Met Costume Institute Gala alongside model Liya Kebede (pictured above, left). With Pollini, he will continue to be based in London.
