Diane von Furstenberg plans first European show

dvfannounceeuroshow.jpgExciting news from the DVF camp this week with the announcement that Diane von Furstenberg is planning her first European show. The New York-based designer was actually born in Belgium, so in a way it's like a homecoming of sorts.

"It's my first fashion show in Europe, yet I am European," she said, at a press conference earlier this week.

DVF has confirmed that she will show at the Pitti W-Woman Pre-collection shows in Florence on 18th June. Here she will present her La Petite Valise Cruise/Pre-Spring 2009 collection at Giardino Torrigiani, a private 19th-century garden.

"I will show just 30 meters from the factory where my first wrap dress was made," she added. "So it's like closing a circle."

And she won't be alone either, the designer also confided that she'll be bringing along her nine-year-old granddaughter as her assistant. Talk about starting them young ;-)
