Exciting news from the DVF camp this week with the announcement that Diane von Furstenberg is planning her first European show. The New York-based designer was actually born in Belgium, so in a way it's like a homecoming of sorts.
"It's my first fashion show in Europe, yet I am European," she said, at a press conference earlier this week.
DVF has confirmed that she will show at the Pitti W-Woman Pre-collection shows in Florence on 18th June. Here she will present her La Petite Valise Cruise/Pre-Spring 2009 collection at Giardino Torrigiani, a private 19th-century garden.
"I will show just 30 meters from the factory where my first wrap dress was made," she added. "So it's like closing a circle."
And she won't be alone either, the designer also confided that she'll be bringing along her nine-year-old granddaughter as her assistant. Talk about starting them young ;-)
