Day one of Cannes Film Festival and the red carpet for the premiere of Blindness was choc-o-bloc full of celebs. Leading the pack were two of my favourite actresses Julianne Moore and Cate Blanchett. Both ladies dominated the glittery event in designer gowns that would leave anyone drooling.

Julianne Moore really went high fashion yesterday by choosing this feathery creation from Christian Lacroix couture from the designer's spring '08 collection. It was an interesting piece that the actress managed to pull off, but was neck flower detail a little too much with the feathers?
Can you believe that Cate Blanchett gave birth just four weeks ago? The Aussie actress wowed on the red carpet yesterday, in a layered shell pink Armani Prive one-shoulder gown with ruffled detailing. Expect to see loads more Armani on Cate's back for the next week and a half, after Giorgio Armani announced that he would be dressing her right throughout the festival - lucky lady!
