London Fashion Week feels like it was only yesterday and yet the British Fashion Council (BFC) is on the hunt again for the next group of talented designers for its New Generation initiative, which is sponsored by Topshop. Last season more than 200 designers applied for the sponsorship initiative, which helps support designers break into the industry.

Kicking off in 1993, some of the scheme's previous winners include Alexander McQueen, Christopher Kane and most recently Marios Schwab and Louise Goldin.

"London's creative reputation has been built on designers graduating through the New Gen sponsorship scheme. The New Gen winner's announcement is key to building excitement and anticipation of the quality of new design talent to be showcased on London's catwalks each to season to a global audience," said BFC chief exec, Hilary Riva.

To apply for sponsorship for next season's September shows visit www.londonfashionweek.co.uk - entries close 5th May, 2008.
