This has to be the funniest thing that I have heard in a while. The folks over at Asda are thinking of replacing Coleen McLoughlin with none other than the new darling of fashion followers - Carla Bruni. The supermarket chain have decided not to renew their two year contract with McLoughlin, who has been their brand ambassador, to focus on a more upmarket customer. But would Bruni be prepared to swap her Dior for Asda...?

According to reports, Asda bosses were so impressed by the French first lady when she visited the UK, that they are seriously considering her as a replacement for WAG Coleen.

"Among the names being considered is Carla Bruni. She's very attractive and a highly stylish person. We feel she would fit in very well with the George look," revealed Asda spokesperson, Ed Watson.

Other famous faces also being discussed include Joanna Lumley, Helen Mirren, Elle Macpherson and Sienna Miller.

"Coleen has been a fantastic ambassador for us and we can't thank her enough. She has worn George clothing to star studded events, always looked gorgeous and helped us at every opportunity," Fiona Lambert, George brand director said.

"But its time to change the emphasis a little. We want to show that our core fashions are for everyone."

Everyone including French first ladies then? Here's a tip: how about sticking to someone who is actually representative of the British public?
