When I'm not writing and editing, shooting video, sitting in boring meetings or schmoozing, a big part of my job is online research. I spend ages each day reading other style blogs (and commenting), checking pageflakes and adding new feeds, updating twitter and keeping tabs on the forums. While doing my rounds, it's always lovely to discover a new blog that's linked to Catwalk Queen or read a funny or insightful comment. We're in a strange position in this world, straddling the line between blogging and publishing, and I know that sometimes - despite the fact we're constantly acting like idiots to amuse you - CQ can be a bit faceless at times. It's my job to change that, so welcome to our new category, 'Behind The Scenes at Catwalk Queen'...

For those of you who haven't been here since the start (so everyone except my mom, then...) here is a very condensed history of CQ to get us started. There will be a quiz at the end, so pay attention...

Catwalk Queen first appeared online about eight years ago. It was my own personal blog when I was a teenager, and I turned it into an online fashion mag when I was studying journalism. Though I was inexperienced and made my fair share of errors and mistakes along the way, it did the job eventually, because I was offered a job with Shiny Media a few months after I graduated. I began as editor of other sites (like Shoewawa and The Bag Lady) but eventually, when Shiny wanted to launch a fashion blog of their own, I saw a chance to take CQ somewhere that I could never do on my own, and we relaunched under the new .tv domain as a joint project.

Fast forward three years, and the site now has its own editor and deputy editor (though I'm still here to stick my oar in when necessary) and a brilliant team of contributors who keep it feeling fresh. Our team is a diverse mix - some trained journalists, some experienced bloggers, some both. We have writers in Australia and sisters in the US, and tens of thousands of visitors a day.

And it's those visitors who are most important to us, which is why I wanted to open up a forum for your comments and questions. What kind of things would you like us to talk about in this feature? Are there are secrets of CQ that you've been desperate to know?

Or perhaps you'd rather we just shut up about ourselves and keep talking about Kate Moss instead? Bring on the questions (but remember, we're actually real live people with feelings...) and satisfy your curiosity!
