Making his first visit to Australia over the weekend, Zac Posen wrapped up the L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival by officially launching his new range for Target Australia. The New York designer took to the catwalk at the Target Rocks Red Market fashion show on Sunday. He told Melbourne's The Age newspaper: "In Australia all these women are really strong characters so now they have to start dressing like them." Big words...

Being Australia, to see so much satiny fabrics strutting down a runway did rather strike fear into the heart. Shiny material = a sweaty Betty. Particularly with temperatures in Melbourne still soaring into the mid-30s despite it now being March. Despite that, there were some gorgeously girlie pieces to get very excited about. His two collections titled Tailored and Glamour could not be more appropriate with high-waisted trouser suits nipped in at the waist contrasting against '40s and '50s style evening dresses. Posen's stab at a floral print was also a highlight but might struggle to sell in a retailer like Target.
