Tocca revives its sari dress thanks to Helena Christensen
Tocca's signature has long been its sari dresses, and they're bring it back with some help from some help from Helena Christensen, who incidentally helped in the original dress' creation. Their spring Vintage collection features their signature sari dresses selling for just $176. "I thought it was a really neat idea to resurrect these lovely dresses," Christensen said. "It is the kind of dress that appeals to everyone. We have them for little girls, too." The dresses were first inspired by some beautiful sari dresses Christensen bought back from India in the early 1990s and showed them to her friend Marie-Anne Oudejans, the founder and designer of Tocca. She then created similar styles for Tocca which Christensen wore so often that people wanted to know who designed it and where they could purchase their own copy. The Eva and Anna sari-style dresses are available now at Butik, a New York boutique owned by Christensen, but will be available and more retailers from April.
