The see-through fabrics on spring runways were a bit more scandalous than those that came out of the woodwork for fall, so you should have plenty of options at mass market retailers and malls in the coming months. This trend is gaining momentum and should be around for a while so pick up a few pieces now.

As you can see above, one way designers like Alessandro Dell AcQua, BCBG, and J. Mendel made sheer fabrics modern was by incorporating them into skirts and overlays. Also note that most of the sheer looks are voluminous and don't fit too closely to the body, this is key to keep the look fashionable instead of overly sexy.

While sheer was more popular than ever for day, for evening too, like here at Fendi and again J. Mendel, sheer fabrics stay floaty and ethereal. (Sorry for the Stam overload, we can't help if she walks in the best shows.)
