Rachel Bilson teams up with DKNY Jeans to launch clothing line
For all you Rachel Bilson fans out there who have been waiting for the OC star to enter the clothing market, the wait is over. DKNY Jeans have announced that they are collaborating with Bilson to launch a junior sportswear line called Edie Rose for DKNY Jeans.
Bilson reportedly approached DKNY Jeans to find out whether they'd be interested in working with her. "Fans of 'The O.C.' really like DKNY Jeans, and I know they make great stuff, so I thought it could be good," she said.
The Edie Rose for DKNY Jeans label will consist of a 15-piece collection featuring button-down tops, sweaters, jackets, T-shirts, dresses and two jeans styles - a straight leg and a skinny leg.
The name Edie Rose was chosen because Bilson didn't wish to have her name on the label. Edie is her grandmother's name and Rose is the name of a close friend.
"I want people to see these clothes for what they are, not just another line designed by another celebrity," she said. Hmm... sounds a little like the Olsen twins to me.
Not surprisingly the style maven herself plans to appear in the brand's fall advertising campaign. It will be sold in the same outlets that DKNY Jeans already sells in, such as Macy's, Lord & Taylor and Nordstrom.
Price-wise, Bilson admits that making her line accessible to her fans is a high priority. Pieces will wholesale between $19.50 and $49.50 per item, and will hit stores September.
