French Connection's skirt reminds me of toile de jouy and is the perfect starting point for a monochrome outfit. The charcoal grey top matches the socks and is crying out for the simple adornment of a the white sakura brooch. I love this combo - understated and letting the tailoring do the talking (kind of like when Girls Aloud let the music do the talking). The other Style Pick with this skirt is a bit naive and clumsy for my liking, I prefer the simple and chic approach. Looking forward to seing more Style Picks, especially if there is a showdown at high noon between staff and readers...

How fast the world of CQ works! No doubt some of our readers have spotted that this skirt was the Style This pick last week.
