Latest Kate Moss for Topshop collection launches to little fanfare - are you surprised?

When the first Kate Moss for Topshop range launched last April, it caused a public reaction that the high street had never experienced before, nor has it since. Hundreds of shoppers (including myself) attended the launch, queuing for hours in front of onlookers, photographers and press. At the model's fifth collection launch yesterday, the Daily Mail reported that not a soul was to be seen when the range went on sale at 6.30am. Clearly the Mail is yet to realise just how this industry works - new is what sells.

Five collections on and the fact that there was little fanfare yesterday is unlikely to be because Moss is losing her marketability.

"Party girl Kate, 34, seems to have been left on the 'sale rail' by new models like Agyness Deyn," reports the Mail. Ouch!

Still, it does leave you wondering what would the reaction be today if Agy was to design a collection for the retailer? After all, there were rumours that she was in talks with Topshop about collaborating. Although, those rumours were recently squashed.

I think the Kate Moss for Topshop range is so over rated. I was expecting so much more. Its cheap and tasteless. Bring on the Agyness Deyn collection! She is so much better. I will buy all of it.

I've seen Kate's new collection and I really like it, I like Agyness Deyn style too, but as am in late twenties wouldn't really get away with wearing it!

I'm not surprised really. Her stuff is pretty underwhelming with a few exceptions. The prices creep up every season and it's just not worth the money in my opinion.
