In honour of International Women's Day, March 8th, fashion legend Diane Von Furstenberg has announced her involvement with the Vital Voices Global Partnership's new "Women Can" campaign, which involves business leaders joining together to support and empower women all around the world. Diane will be hosting a number of high profile events around the world in London, Madrid, Hong Kong and Paris to help raise awareness of VVGP. The series of events will kick off at her store in the Meatpacking District in New York with a viewing of the documentary Seven, which portrays the lives of seven women around the world, and her event in London will be held in honour of Baroness Mary Goudie, who led the campaign for the ratification of the UN Treaty on Human Trafficking. Diane had this to say about her involvement with Women Can:
"I have yet to meet a woman who is not strong. Women will never cease to impress me for their courage and strength, but sometimes that strength is buried so deep within ourselves, and we are afraid to let it out. It is my hope to inspire and to empower women to bring out their strength."
"I am happy to have found a global organisation like Vital Voices that truly supports, empowers and equips women and believes, as I do, that to invest in women will improve the world."
