If you thought the celebrity attendance at the Gucci and Madonna hosted, Raising Malawi benefit was stunning/amazing/something money couldn’t buy, then check out what some of the stars bid on:
- Uma Thurman’s boyfriend, Arky Busson bid $60,000 for the opportunity to name a Gucci bag (did he win though? And would he name it after Uma?)
- Madonna’s daughter, Lourdes, narrowly missed out on tickets to American Idol and a batch of first-edition Harry Potter books, which sold for $95,000.
- Salma Hayek outbid Anna Wintour to pay $350,000 for a private hour playing soccer with David Beckham.
And even if you didn’t bid… well as long as you were there and snagged a goodie bag on your way out, you would have scored an actual Gucci bag. Though with tickets for the events reportedly cost about tens of thousands of dollars, people like you and I would have been better off just buying a Gucci bag.
