Nuts in May is one of my favourite films so when I found out the Candice Marie character was the inspiration for Peter Jensen's A/W 2008-9 collection I was over the moon.
Jensen said: "It's about a pair of very uptight vegetarian social-worker types going on a camping holiday. It's very funny in a painful, cringing way." Alison Steadman plays Candice Marie and is most known for her role as nightmare hostess Abigail in Abigail's Party. "I love Alison Steadman and Mike Leigh in general," Jensen continued and added "I love the British humour too, it’s funny and inspiring it’s what made me move here to begin with."
