liya79063159.jpg Did you know that Ethiopian model, Liya Kebede is no longer a face of Estée Lauder? Where was that announcement, or am I just out of the loop on that bit of news? According to WWD they parted ways last summer, with Kebede dabbling in acting (according to IMDB she’s costarring in a movie called ItW with Alan Cumming, Terance Howard, Rosie Perez and Garbage’s Shirley Manson) as well as designing a children’s wear line called Lemlem, a line of handwoven clothing made in Ethiopia. "I always wanted to do something to help the garment industry in Africa," she said. She’s doing all of this, and she’s the mother of two.

Has anyone else noticed a trend with models at the moment wanting to prove they’re more than just a pretty face? Modelling seems to be just used as a launching pad to something else. We should be so lucky ;)
