Nicolas Ghesquière is to receive an award of merit from French government

The French government is recognizing Nicolas Ghesquiere’s inspirational work at Balenciaga this coming Tuesday. The designer who was chosen to head Balenciaga when he was just 25 in 1997 will be decorated as a Chevalier of Arts and Letters by luxury François Pinault, who owns PPR, Balenciaga’s parent company. The ceremony will be held at Balenciaga’s headquarters in Paris with all Balenciaga employees to share in the recognition.
