Kate Moss' image superimposed on the mugshot of a murderer in the name of art

Russell Young has used images of Kate Moss and former flame, Pete Doherty, in the name of art – depicting the pair as notorious child-killer, Myra Hindley and her partner Ian Brady. Their faces were superimposed on the murderers' 1965 mug shots, then printed on canvases with alternate gold and silver sheens, then believed to be sold by the Bankrobber Gallery for £28,000. Young said that the images were the "ultimate picture, the perfect storm, a perfect combination of fame and shame". According to a statement on his website, Russell says that "after spending fifteen years as a celebrity photographer and music video director, I was able to see how, and at what points that world and the underworld rub up against each other. So the idea of combining celebrities and criminals came very naturally."

What do you think? Is this art or an insenstive display to the families who lost loved ones in the Hindley murders?
