From the catwalk to your door: Net-a-porter.com snaps up Halston
Online shoppers rejoice! Net-a-porter.com has landed an exclusive deal with the newly revived Halston to sell two of its looks (a US$1,495 shirt dress for daytime, and a US$1,795 evening silk dress) the day after its New York Fashion Week comeback show. Not only that, the e-tailer is promising same-day delivery in London and New York! For the rest of the world, orders will be delivered the day after, meaning you could literally get Halston served to you hot off the catwalk to your door within a mere days... it's all too good to be true!
"As the collection goes down the runway on February 4 and the press and buyers are seeing it for the first time, two of the key pieces will be sitting, wrapped, packed and ready to go in our distribution centers in Manhattan and London for worldwide delivery," said Natalie Massenet, chairman and founder of Net-a-porter.com.
Exclusive coverage of the show will also be offered within 24 hours of it taking place, ensuring it is one of the most ground-breaking online deals to enter the e-tailer market. It is also, as Massenet reveals, giving designers the opportunity to "reclaim their ability to sell their product first" from high street copy cats.
"This is offering a luxury brand a lifeline in an age when the high street chain will deliver their product to customers faster," Massenet added.
The microsite (preview pictured above, right) will go live this Wednesday, featuring a retrospect on the label curated by Colin McDowell. Stay tuned to Net-a-porter.com to snap up your own piece of Halston.
