Breaking News: Jane Shepherdson to buy Whistles

shepherdsonwhistles.jpgFormer Topshop director Jane Shepherdson, has reportedly signed a deal to buy Whistles from Mosiac Fashions. Shepherdson has bought into the retail chain along with former Topshop colleagues Keith Wilks and Jo Farrelly. She will take over as chief executive, while Wilks and Farrelly will become finance director and marketing director respectively.

"This is a very exciting venture. I am thrilled to be taking over such an established British brand with enormous potential. I look forward to drawing on the brand's heritage and developing it into an exciting and stimulating collection and store environment," Shepherdson said.

"We see a great opportunity to create something unique for the woman who loves great design, isn't scared of a little edginess and who wants to reference but not slavishly follow trends," she added.

Since leaving Topshop in 2006, we have followed Shepherdson's appointments as advisor for non-profit organisations including ethical label People Tree and Oxfam. Hopefully this new move will include a revitalisation of Whistles as she once did for Topshop.
