Karl Lagerfeld hits London for Chanel's Maison d'Art show

77422032.jpgLock up your children folks, Karl (Count) Lagerfeld has hit town ahead of tomorrow's annual Chanel Maison d'Art show.

"My mother always said it was a good thing that I went into fashion because it proved I didn’t have any great expectations of myself, and she was right. I haven’t made an empire with my name on it. I don’t go around calling myself an artist," he told today's Times2. "If anything, I'm a whore. I go wherever they pay me".

Tomorrow's show Paris-Londres, is expected to draw a super celeb crowd including Lily Allen, Rinko Kikuchi, Charlotte Casiraghi, Natalie Imbruglia, Thandie Newton, Claudia Schiffer and Emma Watson.

Lagerfeld's pre-fall luxury collection was first established in 2002, to celebrate the work of the Parisian ateliers which Chanel has worked with for many years.

His 2008 collection pays tribute to those men who inspired Coco Chanel such as Boy Capel and the Duke of Westminster who introduced the designer to 'English chic', therefore making London an appropriate choice to host the show.

I can't wait to see what the Count has in store for us!
