Catwalk Queen's Year in Fashion: September
The first thing that comes to mind when I think of September is London Fashion Week one of the biggest events on our calendar, the mere thought of it makes me want to take a nap! As well as the big name catwalk shows at the National History Museum we packed in the Topshop Unique shows, the OnlOff schedule shows and Fashion East. The V&A's Golden Age of Couture exhibition coincided with LFW and the star-studded gala show was the event of the season.
Gemma met Matthew Williamson (one of her faves), and conducted a video interview with the gold-shoe wearing designer. Fashion royalty came out for Isabella Blow's funeral and Pop magazine ran one of her old shoots for the Face. By the end of fashion week we'd kind of lost it and were posing like madwomen in our style diaries. New York Fashion Week also made headlines with Marc Jacobs' show drawing furious comments from The Herald Tribune's Suzy Menkes after a 2-hour wait.
In brief: Keira Knightley was on the cover of Vogue, Primark and Gap faced sweatshop controversy again (when will they learn?!), Kim and Gemma met Diane Von Furstenburg at her store launch and Valentino stepped down after 45 years. The two Lauras (think two Ronnies but blonde and female) met Gok Wan and Renée Zellwegger gave a pair of Manolos to a needy civilian!
