2007 seemed to be the year of the controversial advertising campaign for the fashion industry what with those Dolce & Gabbana ads which eventually had to pulled after advertising watchdogs declared that it "glorified violence". Debonair magazine have compiled an overview of the most controversial campaigns in fashion history beginning with the Jordache ads in the late '70s - early '80s which featured a topless female model (how scandalous!) Their current campaign features a topless Heidi Klum in paying tribute to the once controversial ads.

Other ads to have gotten the ASA (Advertising Standards Authority) all hot under the collar include the 2001 Sisley's ads depicting a model giving herself a drink straight from the cow. Typically known for their provocative campaigns, Sisely also got pulses racing with their 'Fashion Junkie' ads this year. Not to be outdone by Tom Ford's ad campaign for his men's fragrance... like I said 2007 was the year of the controversial campaign.
