Tommy Hilfiger launches line of charity handbags
US designer Tommy Hilfiger might have just scored himself a place in the Nicest People of the Year awards. Most designer handbags leave you bankrupt and wondering whether it was really worth taking out that bank loan but Hilfiger is clearly better than that. He has created a series of limited edition bags to retail at £140 with 50 per cent of proceeds donated directly to the Breast Health Institute.
The luxury totes, as pictured here on the arm of Italian supermodel Carla Bruni, sold out immediately when 100 were dropped into the flagship store in Milan last year. Hilfiger has ensured more people will benefit this time by creating 1000 totes to be on sale across Europe as well as online at Tommy.com.
