Celebrity style: Shorts in winter
Yesterday I wrote a post about short shorts being the new mini and the perfect winter party item. CQ reader Yana asked for some images of people wearing the trend and the best way to wear it so here you go! If you live in a warm country then obviously it's easiest to wear the shorts without tights, like Ms Richie (second from left). I like the high waisted look, it's tricky to wear if you're not super slim but also a great way to exaggerate curves. I would strongly recommend teaming shorts with heels.
Don't be afraid to wear slightly big shorts like Chloe Sevigny (far left) as they could make your legs look slimmer. High waisted shorts with a high neck top is a very elegant way to wear the trend. I wore black shorts on a night out a few weeks ago with a Victorian blouse which made the look slightly more feminine and classy. You could go for a complete burlesque look like Rihanna (top right) although that was a stage outfit and you must be really comfortable with your legs to do that!
Gwen looks amazing, as always, as she teams her shorts with a cute flapper top and this season's Louboutin ankle boots. Again, this is probably only a look that works with very slim legs otherwise you could end up looking like Desperate Dan. Wear shorts with tights, heels and a high necked top for the best look.
