Bruce Oldfield opens his closet to the public

bruceoldfieldarchives.jpgThe archives of famed British designer Bruce Oldfield will go on sale this Thursday when he opens his closet to the public. 300 one-off dresses from the past two decades will be offered at The Four Seasons in London's Park Lane.

Oldfield's long career has seen him dress some of the world's most famous women including Princess Diana, Angelica Huston, Jemima Khan and Sienna Miller.

The sale, however, is no indication of Oldfield's retirement or company closure. "It's cleaning house more than anything else," said his spokesperson. "It's better to have the pieces out in public than sitting in the warehouse. And it's a great time for vintage clothing."

Here's a great opportunity for some amazing party dresses, just in time for the festive season. Prices range from £500-£1,000 at The Four Seasons Hotel, Hamilton Place, Park Lane, London W1. Opening hours: 5pm - 9pm.
