I'm loving this story... British Vogue online presenter Louise Roe turns up to Milan Fashion Week in a bin liner - yep, a bin liner! Fair play, it had been especially created for her by third year fashion student Ceri Bartlett, from Derby University, and not just a liner cut with three holes - in a two-for-the-arms, one-for-the-head style.
Extra strong bin bags, at £1.30 for 20, were folded and stapled together to form the bodice and three liners were taped to make a pencil skirt. According to Roe, it actually felt comfortable and fitted like a glove, more so than some designer items she has worn.
At Milan, the reaction was mostly mixed - some raved about the Gareth Pughness of the design while others seemed embarrassed for her. But overall, Roe's experiment proved that you don't need to be a big earner to look good and most importantly - individual.
