Trend Alert: Socks (long and short)
They've been slowly creeping onto the scene for the last season or so and have been all over the catwalks at the recent fashion weeks. You heard it here folks - it's time to begrudgingly fold away the leggings ("but they were so comfy and versatile!") and pull out the long socks, or short socks if you feel brave enough!
Take a glance at the recent spring/summer 2008 shows and you would be forgiven for thinking that strappy heels are no longer possible without a pair of socks to accompany them. Don't be scared, we're not talking Uncle Alf in a pair of sandals and white tube socks style, we're talking peep toe heels with a pair of lacy ankle socks. Or, shoe boots with a pair of over-the-knee socks to keep out the chill (e.g. Sarah Jessica Parker pictured above, rocking them out in the new SATC movie!)
