Some of the greatest names in British fashion are set to be honoured in this year's search for the Greatest Britons. The Daily Telegraph's Hilary Alexander has been selecting the people she considers to be the best. She admits it's a difficult process, "Selecting nominations for Great Britons who have excelled at, say, sport is relatively easy since performance is a key indicator of who merits inclusion."
Her current suggestions include Dame Vivienne Westwood, Sir Paul Smith and Zandra Rhodes. She has also included John Galliano for "sheer creative extravagance", make up artist Pat McGrath and Isabella Blow.
