Martin Margiela is very much a designer's designer, his clothes are full of humour and counts Nicholas Ghesquière and Marc Jacobs as fans. His latest show was superficially a very minimalist affair, with bandeau tops and ultra short minidresses. Belt buckles were sewn into the outfits, and exaggerated angular shoulders jutted out and were topped off with long leather legwarmers.

Margiela's humour was in evidence with cheesy Americana landscape t-shirts used as inspiration for dresses and skirts. The Americana theme was repeated with the inclusion of tattered threadbare denim, leaving only the bare bones of the structure. White paint was used on fabrics which give the impression of skeletons and sea foam adding to the ghostly ethereal feeling of the collection.
