Paris Fashion Week started with a colourful bang thanks to the Manish Arora spring/summer '08 show. The Indian designer, who made his Paris debut after a successful turn at London Fashion Week, infused a mind-boggling kaleidoscopic of colours, shapes, fabrics, beads, crystals and cut-outs into his PopArt-inspired collection.
Mini dresses, long skirts, shiny trousers, tailored jackets and crazy coloured boots featured amazing appliqué of butterflies and landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower. Headpieces were also a key element to the collection in an array of different colours and designs.
The final piece (pictured left), a glow-in-the-dark gown, wowed crowds with its six-foot train and 1,500 carefully placed butterflies.
