Donna Karan is a classic New York designer. She is a staple at New York Fashion Week and is consistent with her designs, which is why the likes of Anna Wintour are always there in the front row. She actually showed her first collection in 1985 which means she has been showing for my entire life! This season she created a line of elegant clothing using a palette of neutral colours. See after the jump for more details and images.

All of the dresses were either maxi or midi length and many of the skirts were voluminous to create a flattering silhouette. It was a nod to early twentieth century style with cinched in waists. Her collection successfully celebrates grown-up style.

There were several full length gowns (above, middle) in varying neutral shades. The one pictured featured beautiful appliqué detail. The criss-cross halter neck detail shows off the new erogenous zone, the shoulder and collar bones.
There were a few items in the collection in darker shades such as navy blue, red and black. There were also the occasional pair of cropped trousers teamed with wedges.
