New Yorker Zac Posen presented his latest collection in his home town last night. Posen showed his Spring/Summer 2008 range in Bryant Park. He has been showing in New York since 2004 when he was awarded CFDA Swarovski-Perry Ellis Award for Ready-to-Wear. This collection included items to be worn throughout the day from daywear to evening gowns.

The day wear included figure hugging body con dresses with clinched in waists and ice skating skirts in neutral shades. The skirts were midi length but voluminous, this is a new silhouette that was premiered for Autumn/Winter and shows no signs of letting up.

There were a lot of bright colours in the collection such as yellow and cobalt blue (seen above) and teamed with a sequined swimming cap. The folds and ruffles is another trend which has been picked up on across the shows.

The evening gowns were very eighties inspired with giant puffball detail around the waist and at the hemline. The tie-dye colouring and long, billowing trains worked surprisingly well. I love the way the material hangs off the back of the model. Also, the ruffles on the front of the dress create volume in places you would usually attempt to avoid, for example the stomach.
