New York Fashion Week Runway Report: Narciso Rodriguez

Narciso Rodriguez is one of those designers whose work you can spot a mile off. Concentrating on understated glamour with precision craftsmanship, these are clothes for women who take clothing construction very seriously. With a slightly Japanese feel, the beautifully draped and tailored garments like the lilac draped dress and full cinched waist coat above are beautiful examples of what Rodriguez does best.

Moving on to more ethereal looks, the little white dresses looked fabulous as they floated down the catwalk, all jagged hems and sheer fabrics. The origami pleated top on the right was a favourite piece of mine, as was the beaded detail on the sheer neck of the middle dress.

Finally an absolutely beautiful, artfully-constructed metallic navy evening coat that went straight to the top of my imaginary shopping list, a layered peach evening dress and girl of the moment Agyness Deyn in a purple sparkly number that I have no doubt will be picked up by a celebrity soon.
