A favourite among celebrities such as Kate Winslet and now Teri Hatcher (the new face of the label), Badgley Mischka took to the New York runway yesterday with a show set to the French Riviera of the flapper '20s. This was evident in their evening wear - a staple on the red carpet scene - with delicate floor-skimming gowns including hints of detailing.

The other half of their show (if indeed, you could refer to it as such) jumped a few decades to reveal a relaxed resort-style '70s theme. Light tailoring mixed with wearable styles traipsed down the catwalk in all manner of colours - hurrah, no more drab grey!

Highlights were a white one-piece swimsuit splatted with black, a yellow and black floral print coat, and dark purple dress which gathered and hung from the hips to give a whole new shape.

However, the unusual mixture of casual weekend wear and glamorous evening gowns did leave some confused and asking for a clearer message next time from the designer duo.
