Iconic British designer Paul Smith seems to create better collections each season, showing at The Royal Horticultural Hall this morning he presented his latest creations. Smith is a classic designer, relying on bespoke tailoring and timeless pieces such as suits and shirts. This season marks the return of tailoring as we throw out smock tops and fill our wardrobes with blazers, high waisted trousers and Victorian shirts. This season, Smith embraced the trend for neutral and monochrome colours for much of his collection.
On the catwalk were classic pieces such as shirts, city shorts and a waistcoat in crisp white cotton. A shot of colour was introduced with thick bright coloured waist bands and scarves.

A preppy blazer was adorned by super-cool model Lily Cole. She modelled geek chic as the blazer was teamed with Harry Potter style circular glasses, grey skinny school trousers and black shoes. There are plenty of school references as we look to the release of the high anticipated remake of St. Trinian's film which Cole stars in.

There were also geeky green anoraks, and striped rugby shirt dresses. The models paraded the catwalk as a collective, giving the impression of a gang. They were all wearing t-bar shoes in a variety of bright colours with sleek hair worn down and straight. My prediction is that the blazer will become a key piece for next season.
