Jovovich-Hawk are on Target for a new diffusion collection
Milla Jovovich and her design partner, Carmen Hawk, are now setting their sights on a new collection for Target. They're clearly not the first designers to turn to the U.S. retailer (i.e. Proenza Schouler, Patrick Robinson, Libertine, the list goes on...), nor is it the first diffusion range for Jovovich who already has a spring/summer collection for Mango under her belt.
"Our Target line will have all our classic pieces: smock dresses, tunics, minis, all vintage-inspired, great prints," Jovovich told the LA Times. "We took the things that sold the best for us but we're doing it on a bigger scale. To be able to do it with a big company that can afford to do it for a good price so that real girls can afford it. That's the reason we were interested."
Not afraid to put her fingers in many pies, the new Jovovich-Hawk for Target range is due to hit stores in spring 2008. At the same time, Milla will continue to be the face of Mango also designing a line of evening gowns and handbags for the Spanish retailer. Furthermore, she also has plans to direct the TV commercial for Target in L.A. this winter, ready in time for New York Fashion Week next February. All that plus a child on the way... I guess she isn't regularly picked to play the sci-fi action chick role for nothing!
