Giorgio Armani to design Chelsea FC's new suits

giorgio_armani.jpg There is nothing like a man dressed up in a well tailored suit. And while most players at Chelsea Football Club can afford to buy custom made Giorgio Armani suits for themselves, the designer and the clubs have entered a three year agreement which means they will be outfitted by Armani for all their formal wear needs.

Giorgio Armani said: "Today at a club like Chelsea the players are international role models and need to look the part. They have to show an acute combination of mental and physical discipline which makes them genuinely heroic. That's why designers like to work with them - we get the chance to dress heroes."

Their full outfit for formal club functions will include a single-breasted, two-button navy blue crease resistant lightweight wool gabardine suit, with flat-front, straight-legged trousers and a fitted jacket with pronounced 'Roman' shoulder line. And according to Times, Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho, liaised closely with the designer on the project – even down to the precise shade of the chocolate-brown suede boots.

The full Chelsea FC Armani look will be avaible for the general public to buy. It will debut at the match against Manchester United in the FA Community Shield at Wembley this Sunday.
