Acclaimed upcoming menswear designer Deryck Walker is to show his first ever womenswear collection at next week's London Fashion Week On|Off venue. The Scottish designer's first menswear collection was for Autumn/Winter 2005.
His decision to create a line of womenswear comes after it was revealed that women make up more than 40% of his customer base. The collection will draw inspiration from classic 40s tailoring and 50s youth culture. Walker will now incorporate knitwear working with knitwear manufacturer John Smedley and millinery created in conjunction with Justin Smith.
The range will now include more womenswear than menswear with 15 womenswear pieces and just five for the men.
