There's no denying that the Little Black Dress is a tried and tested fashion staple, but with purple and splashes of colour in general being so prevalent on this year's Autumn/Winter catwalks, would you opt for one of the many fantastic purple options instead?
I've chosen my favourites from a few of the more affordable retailers out there. First on the left is French Connection's Goody Dress. This pretty little dress turns the basic tunic shape into glamourous evening wear with it's oversized bow detail. In what they describe as 'prince' purple, this has a little extra something that I can't help feeling wouldn't be quite so fabulous in black.
Second up is a very sexy number from Oli in satin and lace. This striking dress is daringly figure hugging, and the muted purple does nothing to detract from the sex kitten style elegance.
Finally, this frill neck taffeta dress from Oasis is a pretty, flirty option. The bright mid purple makes this a great dress for day or night and one I'm seriously considering for my personal wardrobe.
